    Indians 8, Devil Rays 6

C.C. Sabathia has a dozen reasons why he should start the All-Star game.
Cleveland’s ace left-hander became the majors’ first 12-game winner and Grady Sizemore drove in three runs to lead the Indians to an 8-6 win over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on Saturday night.
“It would be crazy to say he doesn’t deserve it,” Sizemore […]

    D-Rays lose sixth straight

C.C. Sabathia became the majors’ first 12-game winner and Grady Sizemore drove in three runs to lead the Cleveland Indians to an 8-6 win over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on Saturday night.
Sabathia (12-2) matched last season’s win total, and is 7-1 with a 2.62 ERA in his last 10 starts.
The Indians, with baseball’s best […]

    D-Rays drop fifth straight game

Ben Francisco led off the bottom of the ninth inning with his first major league home run and the Cleveland Indians beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 2-1 on Friday night.
The homer off Shawn Camp (0-2) came on a 2-2 pitch and landed in the left-field bleachers. Francisco, who was making the first start of […]

    Indians’ Dellucci has surgery

Indians left fielder David Dellucci had successful surgery to remove a torn tendon from his left hamstring on Thursday.
The surgery was performed at the Cleveland Clinic. Dellucci, who was injured running out a ground ball against Philadelphia on June 19, is expected to return this season.
Dellucci signed a three-year contract as a free agent in […]

Michaels’ center of attention in Indians win

Jason Michaels hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning and the Cleveland Indians held off the Oakland Athletics 4-3 Thursday.
An ill-advised throw by Michaels from left field let the A’s put runners on second and third with one out in the ninth against closer Joe Borowski.
But Shannon Stewart - 10-for-20 in the four-game series […]

    Hernandez waived by Indians

Reliever Roberto Hernandez was put on unconditional release waivers Thursday by the Cleveland Indians.
The 42-year-old Hernandez, whose 326 saves are 11th on the career list, was designated for assignment on June 20. He went 3-1 with 6.23 ERA in 28 games after signing a $3.5 million, one-year contract as a free agent in December.
    The right-hander […]

    Athletics 13, Indians 7

Oakland manager Bob Geren probably wishes he gave his ballclub a pep talk sooner.
Geren briefly spoke to his team and the Athletics responded with a 13-7 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday night that snapped a five-game losing streak. Jack Cust hit a three-run homer and finished with a career-high five RBIs, and Shannon […]
